The official party toured the cutter’s primary spaces essential to the ship’s distinct Arctic research operations, as well as navigated through the bridge, engineering control center, science conference library and through some of the five science laboratories. KODIAK, Alaska - The official party joins the Coast Guard Cutter Healy’s bridge team and the operations officer to discuss the details of cutter’s bridge operations Aug. 10, 2011.  The official party toured the ship’s spaces and familiarized the senior counselor to the capabilities and unique mission of this distinguished U.S. Arctic Research Vessel.  The 420-foot Cutter Healy, homeported in Seattle, Wa., provides more than 4,200 square feet of scientific laboratory space, numerous electronic sensor systems, oceanographic winches and accommodations for up to 50 scientists.
