COAST GUARD, JUNEAU POLICE DEPARTMENT RECOVER VESSEL | |

JUNEAU, Alaska - The Coast Guard and Juneau Police Department recovered a fishing vessel in the Gastineau Channel that had reportedly been stolen earlier today. The vessel Julie Marie was later spotted by the owner's wife near the Juneau Yacht Club who immediately notified authorities. When the Coast Guard motor life boat from Station Juneau arrived on scene, a man on board told them that the vessel belonged to him but could not produce any paperwork supporting that. The Coast Guard boarding team took the man into custody and brought him to shore, where custody was transferred to the Juneau Police Department. | |
