COAST GUARD RESCUES FIVE NEAR DILLINGHAM

JUNEAU, Alaska-The Coast Guard rescued five people today after their two skiffs became stranded on ice near Dillingham.

A Coast Guard rescue helicopter from Air Station Kodiak hoisted the five people at approximately 6:16 a.m., where they were taken to a Dillingham medical facility to be treated for hypothermia, but no other injuries were reported.

One of the vessels had been towing the second when they became stranded in ice. 

The weather conditions on scene during the rescue were 16 to 23 mph winds, 16 degrees and overcast.
