Coast Guard medevacs infant to Bartlett Regional Hospital |

JUNEAU, Alaska - A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Sitka medevaced a 1-year-old who was reportedly injured from a fall while aboard a cruise ship 80 miles west of Juneau near Cross Sound at 1:20 a.m Tuesday. The Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Center in Juneau received a phone call at 11:20 p.m. Monday from a crewmember aboard the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity reporting the infant was in need of medical assistance. A rescue helicopter crew was launched and safely hoisted the child in hands with the parent. The helicopter arrived to Juneau where the child was transferred to emergency medical services in stable condition at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday. |
