Coast Guard presents Certificate of Merit to rescuers of Alaska Pride

JUNEAU, Alaska - Capt. Melissa Bert, Coast Guard Sector Juneau Commander, presents a Coast Guard Certificate of Merit to the crew of the of the motor vessel Taku Friday.  

The crew of the Taku was being recognized for their efforts in rescuing the crew of the Alaska Pride that caught on fire in Funter Bay Oct. 13.

JUNEAU, Alaska - Capt. Melissa Bert stands next to Mike Worthington, along with the crew of the motor vessel Taku.  Worthington, captain of the fishing vessel Alaska Pride, was one of the two rescued by the Taku's crew three miles south of Funter Bay in Chatham Straight.

Worthington, captain of the fishing vessel Alaska Pride, was one of the two rescued by the Taku's crew three miles south of Funter Bay in Chatham Straight.
