Coast Guard Cutter Libert y to host open house at Coast Guard Station Juneau

PELICAN, Alaska - Coast Guard Cutter Liberty, homeported in Juneau, moored in Pelican Dec. 16.  The Liberty was recently recognized for completing 20 years of service in the Coast Guard.  ELFIN COVE, Alaska - Coast Guard Cutter Liberty moored in Elfin Cove Dec. 15.  The Cutter recently held it's 12th Annual Blanket, Coat and Toy drive where the Juneau community donated items to be taken to different villages of southeast Alaska.

JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard Cutter Liberty marked its 20th year of Coast Guard Service in Southeast Alaska on Dec. 18, 2009 and will be holding a celebratory open house Thursday from 3p.m. to 7p.m. at Coast Guard Station Juneau. 

A brief presentation will take place at Station Juneau at 3 p.m. to commence the celebration. Tours of the Liberty will be available to the public every half hour from 3:30p.m. to 7p.m. and will begin from Station Juneau.

The Liberty was commissioned in Juneau on Dec. 18, 1989 and is homeported in Auke Bay. Liberty is the 34th of the Coast Guard’s 49 110-foot patrol boats.
