JUNEAU, Alaska - A concrete cross and a Coast Guard hat mark the location where family members, friends and mourners buried the ashes of Coast Guardsman James L. Asnin, 23, of Sitka. The mourners gathered to pay their respects to Asnin during a memorial service at St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Sitka Saturday. Asnin, a crewman stationed aboard Cutter Acushnet in Ketchikan, died April 6 from injuries suffered while on liberty in Victoria, British Columbia.
