KODIAK, Alaska- On behalf of the facilities engineering environmental department here a member recently received the highest federal environmental award called the 2005 White House Closing the Circle (CTC) Award. Daniel H. Guenther, chief of the environmental section here at the Integrated Support Command’s environmental department, (far left) received the award from the Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Thomas H. Collins for the environmental departments model consumer-recycling program. Also, on behalf of Air Station Borinquen in Puerto Rico, Walter W. Moore (left), Lt. Cmdr. Dennis C. Evans (right of Commandant) and Cmdr. Michael Walz, (far right) accepted the CTC award for their facilities engineering department’s work in source reduction and green initiatives (environmental friendly).
