Alaska Regional Response Team meeting held in Anchorage, open to public

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Coast Guard and the Environmental Protection Agency, Co-Chairs of the Alaska Regional Response Team are inviting the citizens of Alaska to participate in an ARRT meeting scheduled for Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown. 

The ARRT was established under the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan and is responsible for developing regional contingency plans to coordinate timely and effective response by various federal agencies and other organizations to discharges of oil or releases of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants.  

The EPA and the Coast Guard view participation by the public as a critical step in the success of the overall spill response planning and preparedness process in Alaska.
