KODIAK, Alaska - The Coast Guard is investigating the grounding of the 70-foot vessel Waters, homeported in Homer. The vessel struck the number four dayboard when it grounded on a rock in Narrow Strait north of Kodiak Island near the village of Ouzinke early morning, June 18th. JUNEAU, Alaska - A jubilant rescued hunter rides aboard a Coast Guard rescue helicopter from the Seattle-based icebreaker Healy Thursday afternoon near the Beaufort Sea. The man is one of four hunters rescued by the Coast Guard. North Slope search and rescue volunteers began searching for the uninjured men July 25. The helicopter crew located the hunters about 32 miles northwest of the Colville River delta, took them aboard the aircraft and transported them to Nuiqsut, a village south of Harrison Bay in the Beaufort Sea.(Official U.S. Coast Guard photo courtesy Cutter Healy) -30-
